We believe that scripture clearly teaches that parents are the primary means of discipleship in the lives of their children. Commending the works of the Lord to the next generation is a direct command to God’s chosen people. God gives the primary responsibility for spiritual matters and growth to the parents (Deut.6, Psalm 78, 145, Ephesians 6). Family discipleship is simply discussing, modeling, and teaching the gospel to your children. This can occur organically in conversation and daily routines. This can also occur intentionally in a weekly family devotion. The role of the church is to support and supplement the discipleship that should be naturally occurring in the home. Faithful people within the church provide additional voices of truth in the lives of children and students, not to assume the duty as parent, but rather support and strengthen the teaching that comes from the home. To further assist with family discipleship in the home, we offer resources to parents, children, and students. We hope that these help bring the gospel to the hearts of our children and into the homes of our people.
Each Sunday, the children at Four Points learn about Jesus throughout the Bible chronologically! Children are saturated with the gospel and the truth’s found in God’s Word! We utilize a three-year teaching plan that chronologically presents the redemptive story of Jesus throughout the Bible. To assist with family discipleship, we have provided a weekly resource that coincides with the lessons your children learn each week at Four Points.
At Four Points, our student ministry faithfully teaches students God’s Word each Wednesday. Students are involved in gospel-centered worship, teaching, and small groups. The bible is taught to them in an expository manner and students are challenged to engage in God’s Word throughout the week. A weekly blog is provided for students and parents with a summary of the message, application questions, and a personal challenge.
